CANNABIS INDUSTRY TEAMS UP TO GROW SOUTH DAKOTA

10/3/2023 - Pierre, SD. - South Dakota citizens have come together to form an organization called Grow South Dakota. As momentum for legalized cannabis grows across the nation, it is time to responsibly and safely make adult use cannabis a legal and taxable product in South Dakota. Millions of dollars will be generated for the things South Dakotans need such as updated roads and schools. The benefits of legalization extend far beyond tax revenue and job creation. Legalizing recreational marijuana can help address issues such as criminal justice reform, reducing the burden on our legal system, and refocusing law enforcement efforts on more pressing matters. South Dakota residents are ready for real solutions.

Grow South Dakota is a growing list of South Dakotans both inside and outside of the cannabis industry. It includes previous state wide efforts such as New Approach South Dakota along with the Cannabis Association of South Dakota. Deb Peters, President of the Association, added, "Kudos goes to the industry’s ability to be a team. Our industry is really banding together to get this done. So many other states are already seeing the financial benefits and it's bad business to be too late to the table. We feel the voters will agree in November."
